Ann P. Smollon is an experienced practitioner in the care of patients whose lives are faced with emotional difficulty or spiritual crisis.
In the course of 25 years of clinical experience, she has provided support and guidance to patients to help them work through a broad spectrum of problems and has encouraged a process by which patients have obtained the ability to successfully manage personal issues and to overcome painful aspects in life’s journey.
Ms. Smollon obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in 1988 and in that same year she was certified with New York State Board of Education. After six years of post master's full-time, supervised clinical experience, she earned her R number with New York State allowing her to practice as a clinical therapist.
Ms. Smollon has remained proactive in continuing her education and training in Internal Family System, psychodrama, life coaching, functional psycho-nutritional informaiton, psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Including 3 years of Interactive Gestalt Group Training at The Long Island Therapy Center. Her ability as a therapist extends across several treatment disciplines.
In addition to her continuing education, she has become certified in Brief Therapy (hypnotherapy); as a Child Care Specialist with the Nassau County Department of Social Services; and as a trained EEG/EMG Biofeedback Practitioner . Ms. Smollon's professional background also includes 10 years of public administrative experience.
